The history of Bodmal convent is the history of the beginning of Odisha mission. Because Bodmal (Rairakul) is the place ,where our first mission station was esatablished. It was on 19^th June1990, four pioneers of Odisha mission reached in Sambalpur and were welcomed to Bodmal parish. They were Rev. Sr. Savio, Sr. Alex, Sr. Mary Rose and Sr. Mary Mathew. It was Rev. Fr. Augustine SVD, Rev. Fr. Scaria Ponnadathumkuzhy, Rev. Fr. Jose Kurianthanam and  others who stretched out their helping hands to our sisters in their initial difficulties and needs. A new convent was constructed and blessed by Rt. Rev. Bishop Lukas Kerketta  and Sr. Savio was appointed as its first superior. The sisters have been rendering their selfless service through education, health ministry and a hostel for children.
